Ducks and Lovers has been praised by theatre luminaries Lee Adams, Sheldon Harnick, Stephen Schwartz, Peter Stone, Maury Yeston, and David Zippel, just to name a few. Theater critic, Peter Filichia [TheaterMania], wrote “Here’s what I'd like to see optioned and mounted: Ducks and Lovers.”

This wacky musical with heart was first presented at the BMI Showcase in 1993 and 1995, as well as the ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop (under Stephen Schwartz) and Dramatists Guild's Musical Theater Development Program in 1995. It received its first fully-staged production at Celebrate Plano ’95: First International Arts Festival, in association with Plano Repertory Theatre in Texas. In 1996, the show was included in ASCAP/Sharon Stage's Festival of New American Musicals in Connecticut, and selections were showcased in Playing the Provinces at Chicago's Apple Tree Theatre. Ducks and Lovers returned to Chicago for a staged reading at New Tuners Theatre’s Stages ’98 Festival of New Musicals and was included in NAMT’s Annual Festival of New Musicals in 2002. Most recently, Ducks and Lovers was awarded the 2004 Directors Choice Award by acclaimed director, John Rando (Urinetown), and will receive two fully-staged readings in late September in New York City under the auspices of BroadwayUSA.
